Instructor Training

Please note: Potential course participants must have successfully completed the Advanced Cycling Skills Course with a recommendation for instructor training prior to registering for this course. Please speak with the Program Coordinator (or by calling 705-472-8480 x 223) if you are interested in enrolling or if you have any questions about the course.

This 12 hour intensive cycling course is for individuals who wish to become certified CAN-BIKE instructors. If you are passionate about cycling education and wish to provide CAN-BIKE instruction to others in the North Bay area, please consider becoming a program leader! Students taking this course will need to have completed all the course prerequisites as verified by the Program Coordinator. This course consists of in-class and on-road components as well as written and practical teaching exams. Required Equipment ♦ bicycle in good working order, sized properly
♦ approved helmet (CSA, Snell, or ASTM)
♦ bike bell required
♦ closed toe shoes
Prerequisites  confident on-road cyclist, working knowledge of traffic dynamics
